SAR - Rescue Strop
The Rescue Strop features a split chest design that enables the strop to be threaded around and under the casualty’s arms, reducing the chance of disturbing the surrounding ground. The chest section incorporates 9mm closed cell laminated foam padding combined with 44mm high quality polyester webbing, providing both comfort and durability during lifting operations.
Three adjustment loops on the chest offer a wide size range, accommodating very young children through to adults, with a chest circumference range of 76cm to 130cm. An anodised alloy twist lock karabiner at the waist allows rapid and secure connection. A back pull handle is integrated into the design to assist with helicopter loading and controlled manoeuvring.
The Rescue Strop includes 44mm high grade polyester webbing split leg loops for enhanced support. Two anodised alloy twist lock karabiners enable rapid connection of the leg loops to the central ring. The easy buckle adjustment system allows the casualty to be positioned anywhere from vertical to seated, and adjusted between these positions as required.
The strop is ideal for lifting a person into a seated position while suspended in a fall arrest harness, thereby reducing the risk of suspension trauma. It can also be used for lifting individuals from water in a horizontal position, helping to reduce the possibility of shock.
The main lift connection point is a large delta maillon, providing a strong and reliable attachment. The Rescue Strop weighs 1.35kg and is rated for a maximum casualty weight of 150kg.
