Beal - Tract Up

A compact micro-ascender and progress capture device, the Beal Tract Up is built for climbers who need a lightweight, versatile rope clamp without the bulk of a full-size ascender.
A fixed sheave with a swing side plate makes threading the rope straightforward, with clear markings to ensure correct orientation during use. The lobe is sprung closed and cannot be locked open, reducing the chance that it can be accidentally left disengaged. Although it's not directly recommended by Beal, threading ~2mm accessory cord through a hole in the cam lobe gives an option for disengaging the cam when unloaded. This can be useful when using the Tract as a part of a system where you want to temporarily pay out slack.
It covers rope ascents, recovery and lifting of light loads, and acts as a useful progress capture device during hauling and rescue manoeuvres. Compatible with ropes from 8-11mm in diameter.
In crevasse rescue scenarios, it is compatible with Beal's Back Up Line 5mm, which runs at 250kg, with a breaking load of 4kN in blocker mode.
